According to the latest update, Marvel has appointed a new cast member to play the villain in the highly anticipated 2016 Marvel movie. Also, it is reported that supervillain continues to be the main antagonist in the upcoming instalment of the series.
Last Nov. 14, 2014 Marvel's official website made the big announcement and reported that the "Inglorious Basterds" actor Daniel Bruhl has joined the cast of "Captain America: Civil War." Information about Golden Globe, SAG and BAFTA winning actor's role has not been officially revealed yet.
Meanwhile, Deadline claims that the actor will be portraying the role of a mysterious villain in Joe and Anthony Russo directed "Captain America: Civil War." However, in the lack of official comments by Marvel and the actor the news remain unconfirmed. For those unfamiliar, besides "Inglorious Basterds" role, the actor is known for his work in "Rush," "The Bourne Ultimatum," "The Fifth Estate" and "The Most Wanted Man."
Meanwhile, Variety is reporting that Bruhl is not the "main villain" in "Captain America: Civil War." But he might be the main antagonist of Benedict Cumberbatch starrer "Doctor Strange."
Furthermore, Variety's reporter Justin Kroll confirms the news about Daniel Bruhl's casting on Twitter. His post suggests that Brock Rumlow-aka Crossbones-will continue to be menacing with the superheroes as the main supervillain.

However, actor's appearance as the villain in "Captain America: Civil War" has not yet been confirmed. Meanwhile, the actor confirmed signing a "multi-contract deal with Marvel" in an interview with Collider.
"Captain America: Civil War" is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016 starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Starks/ Iron Man. The film will also introduce Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther focusing on the storyline in which the superheroes find themselves divided due to the new Superhero Registration Act passed by U.S. government. It requires all those with superhuman abilities to identify themselves and get registered under the act. In the comic, Crossbones is seemingly responsible for killing Captain America.
