Mandarin, a supervillain featured in Marvel comic books, may again be seen in a film. The first and last time fans saw Mandarin, comically portrayed by Ben Kingsley, was in “Iron Man 3.” However, a hint to the character’s possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been teased in a recently released deleted scene from “Ant-Man.” Paul Rudd is set to make another superhero appearance in “Captain America: Civil War,” and the easter egg to the Mandarin’s appearance somehow teases his likely feature in the same film.

Entertainment Weekly shared an exclusive look at one of the deleted scenes, which will be included in the Blu-ray version of “Ant-Man.” The scene, with commentary by Peyton Reed and Paul Rudd, opens with Darren Cross a.k.a. Yellowjacket, played by Corey Stoll, introducing to a group of investors the technological and biological advancements created by the genius minds in Pym Technologies.

Interestingly, Heroic Hollywood pointed out one particular person among the group who happens to have a very unique tattoo. The camera particularly focused on the character who has a tattoo on his left neck. Cinema Blend shared a screen capture for a better look at the ink, which reportedly resembles that of the insignia popularised by the Mandarin in “Iron Man 3.” Heroic Hollywood shared a photo of the militant organisation’s symbol for comparison.

In the video seen below, Reed also somehow teases the Mandarin’s appearance when he asks Rudd if it’s a 10 Rings tattoo. The actor says otherwise, claiming that it’s a sign from the 1996 Olympics.

According to reports, the tattoo seemingly teases the Mandarin’s presence in “Captain America: Civil War,” where Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man will come face to face with the Ant-Man. Whether the tattoo also hints a possible “Iron Man 4” film is still uncertain.

Comic Book Movie speculates that the events that led to the government passing on the “Superhuman Registration Act” in “Captain America: Civil War” were actually masterminded by the Mandarin. Having the rebel organisation in the film instead of making another “Iron Man” sequel will reportedly address the chaos and destruction created by the group in “Iron Man 3.”

Perhaps more hints to the Mandarin's presence in "Captain Ameriaca: Civil War" will be revealed when the trailer is released. The first official preview is rumoured to debut with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in December.
