'Captain America: Civil War' Plot Details: Robert Downey Jr. Says 'It's Steve's Story'
Robert Downey Jr. has revealed some interesting details about “Captain America: Civil War.” The actor said in his recent interview that the film is ultimately about Steve Rogers. He also added that Roger’s past will be revealed in the film.
“Ultimately it’s Steve’s story; it doesn’t say ‘Iron Man 4: Civil War’... It can have a little something to do with the past, but it can be about someone becoming more modernised in their own conflict,” he said in his interview with Empire magazine.
The actor went on to say that Chris Evans, who plays Steve Rogers/Captain America, has been willing to bring out the “underside" of his character, and in “Captain America: Civil War” he will reportedly get the opportunity. In comic books, Rogers is a frail young man who was augmented to become a perfect human being with the help of a serum. He helped the United States government during the World War II crisis. He is trapped in the ice at the end of war and is later recuperated to become a part of the Avengers team. Evans has played Steve Rogers/Captain America in the “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “The Avengers” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. also hinted that his character Tony Stark/Iron Man will not be an out and out negative character. When asked whether he will play a bad guy in the film, the actor said he “wouldn’t put it that way,” Collider reports. He added that the hints of Stark’s future will be seen in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” It is expected that Stark will do something that the fans couldn't imagine. He might completely take a different stand to the things he once stood for.
“Captain America: Civil War” is scheduled to be released on April 29, 2016. The film will be set after the events of “Avengers: Age of Utron.” An act will be passed to regularise superhuman activities, and two opposite groups of superheroes will be formed, which will give rise to an epic battle. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo will direct the film.
