‘Captain America: Civil War’ Steve Rogers' Death: Bullet From Main Villain Will End Steve Rogers -- Report
The recent casting of Daniel Bruhl as an antagonist in "Captain America: Civil War" brought many speculations that he could play as the main villain. Possible villain characters previously mentioned by Cinemablend include Baron Zemo, Nuke, a revived Red Skull and Doctor Faustus among others. However, according to a recent report another actor will take the lead villain role and Crossbones will remain Captain America's arch-nemesis.
According to Cinemablend, Variety reporter Justin Kroll hinted on his tweet that Crossbones will remain as lead villain in "Captain America: Civil War." Daniel Bruhl will reportedly still play a villain but just not the "main one."
Cinemablend speculates that Kroll's tweet gives viewers an idea on who Captain America's arch-nemesis will be in the sequel. The site claims that "as far as Kroll's information is concerned, Crossbones is going to be the front and center villain in Captain America: Civil War. " Kroll's claim is reportedly based on the assumption that the character is the main villain accredited with killing Captain Steve Rogers at the end of the Civil War comics.
While Marvel has yet to confirm this information, it's also interesting to note that Frank Grillo (Crossbones) has just signed on a "multi-contract deal with Marvel." According to the International Business Times, his recurring presence in "Captain America: Civil War" could even hint the death of Captain Steve Rogers.
Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones being the main villain will be responsible for the death of the First Avenger. Joe Russo, director of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" even hinted of the character's purpose in "Civil War." IBTimes quoted him on his statement that Crossbones is "not alive at the end of Winter Soldier for no reason." Crossbones will reportedly be the end of Captain America and his bullet is what kills the super soldier. It's believed a scene in the movie will feature the pair engage in a fight that could lead to Steve Rogers' death.
It's believed "Captain America: Civil War" will show the superheroes divided under two leadership; one under Tony Stark the other under Steve Rogers. The latter will gather those under his command to take refuge in Doctor Strange's sanctum sanctorum. However, the cave will be where Captain America meets his demise. When he decides to come out from hiding to surrender, that's when he supposedly meets his death with Crossbones involvement.
