Captain America: The First Avenger 2011
Hollywood star Chris Evans is barely recognizable as he transformed from scrawny to brawny in the highly anticipated movie, Captain America: The First Avenger making him an iconic American Marvel superhero. With the right script, direction and cast, this film could be a big hit when it is released in theaters this July 2011.
The Fantastic Four actor bulked-up for this role as Steve Rogers, a soldier judged to be unfit for military service. He then volunteers for a top secret project transforming him into a human-fighting machine. However, Chris also has to lose weight to play the character's skinny appearance and it was not so easy. This could also be one reason why he was reluctant at first to accept the role. According to Entertainment Weekly, Chris said in an interview that he was just scared. "I realized my whole decision-making process was fear-based, and you never want to make a decision out of fear. I can't believe I was almost too chicken to play Captain America."
This is a great decision for Evans to take on the role in order to prove that he can meet the expectations of fans in this much anticipated movie of 2011. This month marks the 70th anniversary of the Captain America Marvel comic strip. Captain America has long been considered one of the most iconic and most patriotic superheroes ever. Other famous faces to star alongside Evans include Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Attwell, Stanley Tucci, Dominic Cooper and well-known Matrix villain, Hugo Weaving as Captain America's arch-nemesis, Red Skull.
Will this film be a blockbuster hit? There's only one way to find out.
