'Captain America' Star Chris Evans Surprises Nine-Year Old Battling With Brain Tumor
Chris Evans, the man who brought to life superhero Captain America in the movies, turned a superhero in real life, too. The actor recently made a nine year old "Captain America" fan battling with brain tumor very happy.
WBZ-TV reports that Chris Evans devoted his Monday, Dec. 29, to make children staying at Christopher's Haven happy. The children there are being treated by Boston's Mass General Hospital right next door, and they are staying at the Haven, with their families. Among the many children there, a nine year old kid Kenny was exceptionally happy and excited to see Captain America in flesh. Kenny has been residing at Christopher's Haven with his sister and mother as he undergoes treatment.
The kid was surprised when he walked into the room and Captain America aka Chris Evans came out. Chris asked who among the kids is Kenny and when the youngster was identified, Chris quickly shook his hand. Aside from this sweet moment, Chris also signed autographs for the kids and gave Kenny a unique memorabilia. He also devoted a lot of his time playing with the excited little fan. Playing turned extra special when Kenny was given the opportunity to "catch" Captain America and tie him to a chair.
Kenny and his family has a GoFundMe page set up, where people can donate funds to help with the medical bills. Currently, the fund has $8k out of the needed $30k to pay off Kenny's healthcare bills.
Chris Evan is currently busy plugging a game called "Call Of Duty" in China. He was recently in the country plugging the online game. This is a free-to-play, online game largely based on the shooter series of the same name. The game entered China in a beta version in 2013 and the full version would be launched on Jan. 11, 2015. The game has not yet been released in other countries. The company behind the game wants to see the market response in China first before deciding to roll it out in other countries and regions.
