‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Releases Deleted Scenes and Blooper Reel Online [VIDEOS]

Marvel has released cut scenes from the blockbuster hit “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” ahead of its DVD and Blu-ray release on September 9. A short blooper reel is also included.
The film, a sequel to the 2011 “Captain America: The First Avenger,” was both critical and commercial success when it was released in April.
Just like other films, though, it wasn’t perfect before its final cut. There were some scenes that were decidedly superfluous, and were therefore deleted from the film.
Two of them were released by Marvel Entertainment on Wednesday, and both run a little over a minute.
The first one involves Maria Hill (Colbie Smulders) and Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernandez). In the scene, Sitwell asks Agent Hill if she was aware of Captain America (Chris Evans) and Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) undercover outing in an Apple store.
With her loyalty lying with the protagonists, Agent Hill denies any knowledge of the pair, but can’t resist taunting Sitwell after. Sitwell then informed her that she is taken off the case because her connection to Steve Rogers (Captain America) is a liability.
The second deleted scene explains how Captain America lost his suit and where he got his hoodie and joggers attire.
While both scenes provide additional information, they are nonetheless expendable since viewers can do away without them.
However, as some YouTube commenters pointed out, it would have been nice to include the first deleted scene so Smulders would have more screen time.
If the deleted scenes aren’t enough, though, Marvel also threw in a brief gag reel, and it features the “How I Met Your Mother” star winking.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” stars Evans, Johansson, Smulders, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Robert Redford and Samuel L Jackson. It will be available for digital download on August 19, and on 3-D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on September 9.
