The Carrie Diaries: Meeting Carrie Bradshaw Before ‘Sex and the City’
"Sex and the City" (SATC) will come back to U.S. television with fresh episodes, only this time, viewers will see a much, much younger Carrie Bradshaw.
Anna Sophia Robb plays high school Carrie Bradshaw on The CW's "The Carrie Diaries." The young Bradshaw's life is hoped to reconcile to the 30-something writer on SATC, which had a very successful run on HBO.
Carrie Bradshaw, Love and Fashion
Carrie Bradshaw's fans can hope for an over-analytical high school girl. She is likely to shred every detail of her love life into pieces to derive some wisdom from each emotional experience. On that note, much will be written in Carrie's diaries about love and relationships, as well as teen Mars and teen Venus.
Now when there's Carrie Bradshaw, there is love. And wherever starry-eyed Carrie is, fashion couldn't be far behind.
Teen Carrie Bradshaw replaces Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) as the teen drama icon for stylish and passionate pursuits.
"The Carrie Diaries" Pilot Review
Shannon Vestal of buzzsugar.com spills on the pilot episode of The Carrie Diaries. She writes:
"Carrie is 16 and lives in suburban Connecticut in the early '80s with her younger sister, Dorrit (Stefania Owen), and their father after their mother has recently passed away. Their family unit is still adjusting to the loss, but Carrie has a few things to take her mind off of home, like her best friends, including Mouse (Ellen Wong), a new crush (Austin Butler), and an internship at a Manhattan law firm."
Vestal wrote there was more drama in the pilot than she expected. Then again, it is difficult to take a lot of drama away from a future relationship writer.
The Carrie Diaries debuts on Jan. 14, 2013.
