Carrie Underwood Expecting First Child with Mike Fisher
American country music singer Carrie Underwood is expecting her first child with her husband, Mike Fisher. Underwood, who rose to fame after winning the fourth season of "American Idol," got married to the Canadian professional ice hockey player in 2010.
Underwood broke the news on social media in a unique fashion. She posted a photo online with her little puppies. "In honor of "Labor" Day...Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier!" the caption of the photo says. The little puppies, Ace and Penny, are seen wearing blue and pink shirts with captions that say: "I'm going to be a big brother" and "I'm going to be a big sister," consecutively.
The 31-year-old singer's way of making the special announcement apparently impressed her followers quite a lot. Her Twitter post got flooded with "congrats" messages. Ada Slivinski wrote that she had "always been so excited" for the singer and her husband to have babies! Some other users seemed a bit confused about the "subtle" message. Kelsey asked if Underwood would be "having a baby or another dog." Cherie #chercrew, who claimed to have been feeling down, wrote that the news made her day.
The U.S. singer posted the photo with the same caption on Instagram as well. When last checked, the photo was liked by more than 93.4k users. _ericka_nicole congratulated her. "Praying for healthy pregnancy and delivery going be great parents," she wrote. tabbykat1982 wrote that the pregnant singer would "love being a mommy." nej2575 appreciated Underwood for choosing the right time for being a mother. "So glad you waited until you were ready and didn't rush into it right away!" he wrote.
Many a user did not apparently understand the smart message Underwood gave to her fans. Several of them assumed that the singer might have been talking about having another puppy. Underwood's husband, however, gave more hints that the couple was talking about having a child. "We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly." Fisher wrote. While the statement may still confuse some, the hashtag along with it, #boyorgirl, should clarify that doubt.
