Casey Anthony would have to wait a little longer before she could be set free. CNN reported that the release date, after a not guilty verdict, has been rescheduled for July 17, not July 13 as originally planned in a statement released by Florida's Orange County Corrections last Thursday. According to the statement of Allen Moore, the department's public information officer, the new date is a result of "a detailed recalculation of the projected release date".

There was no explanation of how the recalculation was made. The only thing certain is that, Anthony's release date was moved back by four days and thus, the new release date is July 17.

She was found "not guilty" of manslaughter and aggravated child abuse as well much to the dismay of people following the development of Caylee's case. The jury did find her "guilty" of four misdemeanor counts of lying to police. During the sentencing, Judge Belvin Perry meted the maximum sentence of four years in jail, one year for each of the four convictions of lying to police, but with credit for the approximately three years already served in jail and for good behaviour. She was also fined a $1,000 for each count of lying.
