Castle Season 5 premiere did not disappoint fans. "The morning after" was creatively dealt with, and there is still chemistry between Castle and Beckett. The fifth season premiere seems to be promising that the new couple will not get boring anytime soon.

Here are the "After the Storm" highlights that brought the best out of the characters in the series:

3. Alexis has just had her first hangover. Her father is almost proud to see her daughter really growing up. It's funny and sweet. And it makes one wonder whether Alexis would be less boring this season.

2. If things were up to Beckett, she would have no qualms showing herself to Martha and Alexis. She does seem happy that she and Castle are finally together. Stana Katic is finally able to show an open and vulnerable Beckett in Castle's arms. It is a brief moment, but a beautiful scene, nonetheless.

1. The murder of Joanna Beckett is now unofficially closed. The investigation has finally gone somewhere. Or at least there is a "big fish" in the picture now. Jack Coleman as Sen. William Bracken is compelling as an abominable politician. Beckett slapping the senator is not enough for what he has done. But she makes him realize she could go much farther than that.

3. What would it take before Esposito could get over what Ryan did? After all, Beckett would have not been saved if not for the call he made to the Iron Gates.

2. Who will be the first to find out about Beckett's and Castle's relationship? (Spoiler alert) Reports indicate Alexis would slip, but does that mean she would be the first to know?

1. When will Beckett and Sen. Bracken meet again? Would she make his life a living hell? (Spoiler alert) Castle viewers will certainly see the senator again. It is only a matter of "when" and "how."

Next week, Beckett will be back at the NYPD. The second episode is titled, "Cloudy with a Chance of Murder." Previews show a woman in lingerie sitting on a fully-dressed Castle - on a couch. Trouble too soon?
