Castle Season 6 Episode 2 'Dreamworld' Review, Stana Katic Celebrates Kate Beckett Milestones with Cas-kett Fans [PHOTOS]
Castle Season 6, Episode 2 ("Dreamworld") appears to be laying the groundwork for Kate Beckett's return to NYPD. Meanwhile, Stana Katic asks Kate Beckett's fans: Who knows "the number of times Katherine Houghton Beckett interrogated someone?"
Spoiler Alert: This review recaps the highlights of Castle Season 6, Episode 2, "Dreamworld." Read at your own risk if you haven't seen the two-part premiere.
As many Cas-kett fans expected, Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) survives the potentially fatal toxin he inhaled in the first part of Castle Season 6 premiere episode, "Valkyrie."
Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and Rachel McCord (Lisa Edelstein) work together to get the antidote for Castle. But ultimately, the one who's supposedly rendered helpless by toxin is the one who figures out the key clues into solving the case.
It turns out that the Castle Season 6 two-part premiere, "Dreamworld" and "Valkyrie," involves a top secret military operation and a quest for vengeance. In the end, Beckett learns that the senator involved is another 'untouchable.' Another Senator Bracken.
Incidentally, Sen. William H. Bracken (Jack Coleman) is returning in Castle Season 6. Stana Katic reveals this in an interview, but says she doesn't know when or how. Is it possible Bracken and Reed are deeply connected?
There are many things that ABC's Castle does best, but the show can be weak in treatment when it comes to overall production value of a big national case. That seems to be the same with Beckett. She may be too big a fish in NYPD. But Ryan, Esposito, and the New Yorkers deserve nothing less. McCord's "It's not always black and white" in Washington line might drive Beckett straight back home to New York.
Aside from Lisa Edelstein as Rachel McCord, guest stars in this special Castle episode are: Yancy Arias as Carl Villante, Jocko Sims as Matt Hendricks, Myko Oliver as Pi, Michael Bofshever as Dr. Goldberg, and Glenn Morshower as (the untouchable) Secretary Michael Reed.
On Twitter, Stana Katic engages fans with this tweet: "Guest asked me today if I've counted the number of times Katherine Houghton Beckett interrogated someone over the past 6 seasons. Anyone?" After over a thousand 'favourite clicks' and nearly 900 retweets, Stana's followers got the answer:
