The Season 7 of "Castle" is currently under production, but Nathan Fillion is happy donning the outfit of Captain Kirk of "Star Trek" for The Hollywood Reporter's (THR) Comic-Con Preview edition's photo-shoot.

The actor has disclosed that meeting William Shatner, who played the iconic character of Captain Kirk in the original "Star Trek," is a big deal to him. In his interview with THR, the actor said, "I've been fortunate enough to have met William Shatner. That's a big deal to me."

He also told THR that something "triggered" inside of him, hearing Shatner's voice. "A familiarity. I feel comfortable when I hear his voice. It's such a bizarre experience to be actually in his presence," the actor said. [Check the Video Here]

Shatner seems to have taken a liking to Fillion, as he recently compared Fillion's look in "Firefly" to Prince Eric of "Little Mermaid" on Twitter. He said: "What happened to @NathanFillion figure? He got Disneyfied! He looks like Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid!"

In the THR interview, the "Castle" actor also talked about his old show "Firefly," which ended abruptly, almost ten years ago, but since has attained iconic status. Speaking about his relationship with the fans of "Firefly," the actor said that the fans have always been there from the beginning of the show. "There's just so many more of them now. They don't go away. You meet children who are named for characters on the show," Fillion said to THR. "Now I know "Firefly" will never die."

"Castle" Season 7 is scheduled to premiere on September 29, 2014. Fillion has signed on for the new season. The new season is expected to introduce a new mythology that revolves around his character, Rick Castle. Some new secrets, which have the potential to cause temporary friction between Castle and Beckett, are set to tumble out in Season 7.

The last season wrapped-up on a devastating note for the fans of "Castle," as the much anticipated Beckett and Castle's wedding did not take place. Castle never arrived to walk down the aisle with Beckett, but his bride Beckett found his car in flames and in a ditch. The unspoken word was Castle died in the accident. It is confirmed that Castle is alive and he is expected to return in Season 7 to reveal more about himself and his life.
