Stana Katic is leaving 'Castle'

"Castle" Season 7, Episode 11, titled "Castle, P.I." airs Monday, Jan. 12, on ABC. This episode jumps a couple of months from where things left off in "Bad Santa," aka Castle 7x10. Fans of Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion will soon see what happens next to their characters, Kate Beckett and Rick Castle, respectively. Meanwhile, Katic answers some questions from the fans on Twitter.

Days after the premiere broadcast of Castle Season 7, Episode 10, Stana Katic asked the fans on Twitter if they are enjoying the current season.

"Enjoying (Castle) s7? We wrap up 713 & start 714 tomorrow," the actress tweeted, encouraging the fans to respond. The series was taking a 5-week break, so fans were eager to raise their questions. (See Stana's tweet below.)

One fan asked if Castle Season 7 Episodes 13 and 14 make up a 2-parter special. Stana gave an affirmative response. Another fan asked how many episodes are there this season. Stana said 23. One more fan was curious about the actors behind the scenes.

"(W)ho is (more) likely to break during a scene? Jon Huertas or Seamus Dever?" Stana revealed that Jon, who plays Javier Esposito, is more likely to fill the show's gag reel.

When Castle returns with fresh episodes, the series itself is starting a new chapter with Rick as a private investigator. Showrunner David Amann explained this development to TV Guide:

"We thought it would give us some opportunities to upset the apple cart a little bit in terms of the Castle-Beckett professional relationship. We were looking for an interesting way to have Castle get into trouble. He kind of operated outside the lines in Episode 10, so we felt that like it was justified that he would be punished for that."

Castle Season 7 airs new episodes Mondays beginning Jan. 12, according to the show's network, ABC.
