'Castle' Season 7 Spoilers: Case Involving 3XK Disciple Dr Kelly Nieman To Trigger Rick Castle's Missing Memories
"Castle" Season 7 opened with Rick Castle's disappearance on his wedding day. After two months, he was found unconscious in a dinghy at sea. When he woke up in a hospital room, the two months of his life were completely wiped out from his memory bank. He remembered nothing. Later, the appearance of a new character called Henry Jenkins complicated the disappearance mystery but offered no answers. When Castle met him, he told the best-selling writer to stop looking for answers about his disappearance. He revealed that it is Castle himself who told him that he wants to forget those two months. After the initial episodes, disappearance mystery took a backseat. The writers, however, have not forgotten about it. They will be revisiting it in the two-parter scheduled to air in February.
In the mid-season finale of "Castle" Season 7, Castle was booted out of 12th precinct because of his friendship with mob-boss Dino Scarpella. As previously reported, he will be making an appearance as a private investigator in the upcoming episode. According to David Amann, showrunner of "Castle," a case will trigger some memories about the missing time. He said to TV Guide, "The case he's involved with that has some emotional intensity ... brushes up against his experiences that occurred while he was missing." Amann revealed that this murder case will involve 3XK disciple, Dr Kelly Nieman.
Castle's disappearance on his wedding day is related to a new mythology that revolves around him. Nathan Fillion, who plays Castle, has said in one of his interviews that Castle's mythology is unlikely to be as dark as Beckett's, as he turned out to be an "okay guy," not a tough one.
The first half of "Castle" Season 7 finally gave the fans the much anticipated Caskett wedding. Castle and Beckett exchanged their vows in an impromptu wedding ceremony that only Martha, Alexis and Beckett's father attended. Amann has said that Castle and Beckett's professional relationship break-up is not going to hurt their personal relationship. Castle will work hard to get his private investigator license, with the intention to get back inside 12th precinct again. He is not going to be successful in that. But, Amann has said that P.I. Castle and homicide detective Beckett are going to investigate the same murder cases.
"Castle" Season 7 returns on Jan. 12, with episode 11.
