Stana Katic is leaving 'Castle'

"Castle" Season 7 spoilers point to a rediscovery of some sort between Stana Katic's Kate Beckett and Nathan Fillion's Rick Castle. Series creator Andrew W. Marlowe and newly promoted showrunner David Amann hint of major changes, but they seem to guarantee something constant for the Caskett fans. Meanwhile, Castle's other hero, Derrick Storm could be coming to ABC.

"We have something planned [for Castle Season 7] that we're kind of excited about, and we hope that people come back and play along," Marlowe has pointed out in an interview. He has also said the new season premiere picks up from where things left off in the sixth season finale.

"Things that are going to come to light that are going to be unsettling for Beckett," Amann was quoted as saying in this TVGuide report on Castle Season 7.

Both Marlowe and Amann have spoken of a new mythology in ABC's Castle. Many fans have been guessing that one of the old villains may have something to do with Rick Castle's disappearance. However, the show bosses seem to be suggesting that bride Beckett is about to rediscover her groom.

In a bid to keep the fans calm, Amann said the producers remain "committed to that [Caskett] relationship."

"[Kate Beckett] loves [Rick Castle]. These are things that are part of who he is," Amann continued, hinting that Stana Katic's Beckett will find out things that will not thrill her about Nathan Fillion's Castle. Season 7 could be the chapter where viewers will finally get a full length backstory into the best-selling author's life.

What exactly is in Rick Castle's past that Kate Beckett is about to find out in Castle Season 7? Showrunners have warned that not all the answers will be uncovered soon. The mystery is likely to run throughout this new season.

Meanwhile, Variety.com reported Andrew W. Marlowe and his wife Terri Edda Miller are developing Castle's "Derrick Storm" series for ABC. The series, though not intended to be a spinoff, is expected to be followed by the same viewers who are looking forward to seeing Castle Season 7.
