‘Castle’ Season 7 Update: Episode 20 To Revisit Rick Castle’s Disappearance Mystery
It seems such a long time ago that Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) returned after disappearing on his and Kate Beckett's (Stana Katic) wedding day. He was a missing person for two months and when he returned he had no memory of that time. He had no clue about whether he himself decided to go away or someone abducted him. After the initial episodes, Castle’s disappearance mystery took a backstage. As Season 7 is barrelling towards its end, the disappearance mystery is set to become the centre of focus in the upcoming episodes. It has been reported that episode 20 of “Castle” Season 7 will be revisiting Castle's disappearance mystery.
Speaking about the upcoming episodes, Seamus Dever, who plays detective Kevin Ryan on “Castle,” said to TV Line, “... the one that everyone has been hanging on, waiting for, since the beginning of this season -- “What happened to Castle? Where did he go for those three months?” That’s going to be exciting to get back into [in Episode 20].”
The actor also said to TV Line that episode 20 will be revising the mystery in a significant way. There is likely to be a little bit of "finality" but at the same time the episode will not completely close the door on the mystery that is related to the mythology revolving around Castle, according to Dever.
Speaking about episode 20, David Amann, showrunner of “Castle,” told Tv.com that the episode will “deal, to a large degree, with Castle’s missing time from the beginning of the season.” He also said that there will be some "clarity" on what really happened but the episode may not tell the complete story.
The next episode, which scheduled to air on March 30, is titled "Habeas Corpse.” This episode 19 will see Castle and Beckett investigating the murder of a larger-than-life personal-injury attorney. They will be seen discovering a “shocking secret” connected to the murder that will deepen the mystery, according to the synopsis of the episode.
Meanwhile, ABC has yet to clear the air on “Castle” Season 8 and announce whether it has cancelled or renewed the show. Also, there is no news on whether Katic and Nathan Fillion have signed on their new contracts.
