Fans will have to wait for Episode 17, as TV.com reported "Castle" Season 7 returns Mar. 16 with a fresh episode on ABC. Meanwhile, fans can check social networking sites for updates from the cast and showrunners themselves.

“Spacesuits rock my world,” Stana Katic tweeted to caption a collage by makeup artist Lizbeth Williamson. The behind-the-scenes photos show Stana having fun filming “Castle” Season 7 Episode 16, titled “The Wrong Stuff.”

Stana Katic often re-tweets posts from her followers, particularly when they are related to Caskett fandom. Fans call husband and wife Caskett, which Rick acknowledged in an episode in “Castle” Season 5. This fan image shows the whole gang.

Stana also re-tweets this photo from the Twitter feed of Gwendoline Yeo, who guest stars in Castle 7x16. Yeo plays one of the antagonist characters in the space science fiction homage episode. The picture shows Stana “photobombing” Nathan and Gwendoline.

On his Twitter page, Marlowe told fans the special Mars episode (Castle 7x16) was inspired by his sister Amanda Marlowe, “who was an applicant to the MarsOne project, and was sadly just cut from it.” He called the episode, “A real space oddity!” He also asked fans to “Count the homages to great SciFi along the way.”

In “Castle” Season 7 Episode 16, Rick (Fillion) and Kate (Katic) discover that a computer (not exactly artificial intelligence, says its maker) has orchestrated the murder of a “threat” in a Mars mission. On the side, Martha (Susan Sulliva) announces she’s leaving so the couple could have some privacy when little Castles are born.

It later turns out that Rick and Kate don’t like it when their home is so quiet. The references to Castle babies come in trickles, convincing some fans Stana Katic’s Kate Beckett is getting pregnant in the series.

“Castle” Season 7 is believed to have 23 episodes, thanks to this teaser photo from program creator Andrew W. Marlowe. Barring any changes, there are only seven episodes left in this chapter.

“Castle” Season 7 airs Mondays on ABC.
