"Castle" Season 7 premieres September this year. Filming has yet to kick off. While on hiatus, Stana Katic leaves Nathan Fillion for another ABC star, Brett Dalton. Katic and Dalton are filming "The Tourist," an indie drama written and directed by Evan Oppenheimer. Meanwhile, Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe is hoping to start new season "with a bang."

Writing for Castle Season 7 is currently a work in progress. Nathan Fillion's Rick Castle is either badly injured or kidnapped at the end of Season 6. Bride Beckett is definitely going to get some answers, but "Caskett" fans must patiently wait.

"(W)e want to start it off with a bang," Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe told TVLine, referring to new storylines in Castle Season 7.

"We have some interesting answers when they come back. Or, at least, more interesting questions," Marlowe added.

Many fans are guessing an old Castle villain is involved in the groom's predicament, but Marlowe was hinting at other possibilities. Still, the show boss reassured fans about the Caskett wedding.

"We know that we owe [the fans] a wedding that accurately reflects who Castle and Beckett are, yes," he said.

While writers are busy weaving Castle Season 7, Stana Katic is able to find time to wear a different hat and expand her career. However, little is known about the role Katic is playing in "The Tourist."

In its report about "The Tourist," Deadline said Dalton is playing "a heartbroken former college football star who gets in over his head with a dangerous Florentine sport and an alluring local woman." This woman is portrayed by Alessandra Mastronardi ("To Rome With Love").

On Twitter, Stana Katic is still MIA. Her last shout-out was posted Apr. 12, about the last day of filming for Castle Season 6. Katic's latest project outside ABC's Castle is the 2013 film "CBGB," starring Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal.
