Cat Wine? Japanese Pet Brand Concocts Wine Just For Cats
Cat lovers don’t have to be alone anymore when drinking at home. Now they can drink wine with their cats, thanks to a Japanese company that has concocted a wine especially made for cats. Nyan Nyan Nouveau is a bottled wine created for feline companions who just want to have fun.
B&H Lifes, a pet supplement company in Japan, has rolled out “wine exclusively for cats” called Nyan Nyan Nouveau, which is developed for cat owners “wanting to celebrate birthdays or Christmas with their beloved cats.”
As translated by kotaku.com, “nyan nyan” in Japanese can refer to a cat’s meow sound or people having sex. But thanks to the 8-bit animation online meme Nyan Cat, or also known as Pop Tart Cat, English-speaking people understand the word as meaning “cat.”
Nyan Cat:
Though it would have been a sight to behold, cats wouldn’t actually get drunk with this brilliant idea of a drink. This cat wine is actually non-alcoholic.
It’s made of juice from Cabernet grapes, Vitamin C, and catnip. So while cats wouldn’t get drunk with this cat wine, they might go berserk with catnip (that is if these dry leaves are actually addictive to cats).
Only 1000 bottles of Nyan Nyan Nouveau will be available for sale to the public starting from October 15. It’s priced at 399 yen, or around AUD4.23. And wine for people, this cat wine doesn’t get better with age. It is recommended for cats’ drinking pleasure within just a year.
Cat owners interested to buy for their feline friends may order their bottle from Pet-Bitokenko.com.
