Cate Blanchett comes in second in Forbes' "Best Actress for The Buck" list
Australian actress Cate Blanchett comes in second in Forbes' Hollywood's Best Actress For The Buck. For every dollar given to the actress, films featuring Blanchett earn $27 in profits.
Blanchett had starred as the female lead in two recent films: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Robin Hood. The latter earned $310 million despite opening weak at the box office.
However, Forbes noted that Blanchett is not scheduled to appear in any "big" movie in the near future unless she reprises her Lord of the Rings role as Galadriel in the upcoming film adaptation of The Hobbit.
Anne Hathaway topped Forbes' list, with $64 profit. Dorothy Pomerantz described Anne Anne Hathaway as "the embodiment of an all-around movie star" for appearing in high-grossing films like Get Smart and the recent Alice in Wonderland.
While at the same time, Hathaway also reaped critical success with her Oscar nomination for 2008's Rachel Getting Married. Hathaway remains one of the least costly Hollywood stars to hire for a movie, a fact which helps her movie profit.
The Hollywood actress making to the top five in Forbes' list are:
- Anne Hathaway
- Cate Banchett
- Meryl Streep
- Jennifer Anniston
- Sarah Jessica Parker
