Oscar-winning Australian actress, Cate Blanchett, shared her voice to the new character in the hit US cartoon "Family Guy."

Blanchett will be the voice of Penelope, which is Stewie's evil girlfriend. The episode aired yesterday. In this hit Fox's animated series, Penelope is as mischievous as Stewie and was his accomplice when the latter plants an exploding wallet on Mort.

This marks as Blanchett's first television work since 1995 when she played Bianca in Australian miniseries, Bordertown. The last animated character Blanchett voiced was in 2008, when she played Granmamare in the English version of "Ponyo."

Blanchett is concentrated in making films and some of her notable performances were in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Indiana Jones" and "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (2008) and her Oscar-winning performance as Katherine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese's "The Aviator" (2004).

Cate is currently rounding up filming the prequel of "The Lord of the Rings," "The Hobbit," which reunites her with director Peter Jackson and other members of the cast.

Fox is casting more stars to make cameo appearances in some of their series. Lady GaGa is set to appear in "The Simpsons" on its May 20 season finale episode. In the said episode, Lady GaGa will help Lisa Simpson become popular.

After Lindsay Lohan, Whoopi Goldberg will be a guest star on "Glee" as dean, while Fergie, Rashida Jones and Darren Criss are set to lend their voices on the Sunday episode of "The Cleveland Show."
