Cathriona White suicide: Sources claim Jim Carrey only wanted a 'short break' not a breakup
Cathriona White reportedly committed suicide days after Hollywood actor Jim Carrey broke up with her. It’s believed the split made White so depressed that she took her own life. However, sources close to the couple revealed White may have misunderstood the comedian.
Friends of the couple told TMZ that Carrey had not intended to break up with White. Instead, he only wanted a “short break” from their relationship. However, the 28-year-old was reportedly so distraught over their split despite friends trying to console and remind her that the actor still cares for her.
A note was reportedly found next to White's body. It was addressed to Carrey and talked about their break up, four days before her death.
It’s suspected that the 28-year-old overdosed on prescription pills, when police found her lying unconscious at her home in Los Angeles. White was pronounced dead on the scene on Sept. 28 after police responded to a call from her house in Sherman Oaks.
According to TMZ, three bottles of prescription pills were found next to her bed. It included bottles for a sleep aid called Ambien, a medication for blood pressure or heart problems called Propranolol and Percocet, a painkiller. Interestingly, local authorities identified that all three medications were prescribed to Carrey under an alias. A source told TMZ that an eyewitness suspects White may have taken the pills from the actor’s home.
It’s believed White overdosed on three pills. However, a toxicology report is yet to reveal the final cause of death. Entertainment Online was informed by the coroner’s office that the autopsy has been completed.
White’s body is still in possession of the coroner’s office and will not be released until it’s claimed by next of kin. In this case, by her husband, as Entertainment Online revealed she was already married in her native Ireland while in a relationship with Carrey.
