Just before the New Year came in Times Square, Cee Lo Green performed with a fur coat and sang his take on 'Imagine,' an original by John Lennon.

All went well except when he changed three words saying: "Nothing to kill or die for/And all religion's true" are the lines that made his performance controversial. This is because the original lyrics say "Nothing to kill or die for/And no religion too."

Over his Twitter page, the singer explained that he meant no harm with changing a part of the lyrics of the song for he only wishes for everyone to be able to have the freedom to believe what they want.

But this apology did not satisfy the fans of Lennon who also expressed over their twitter accounts their intense disapproval with his rendition of the classic song.

The singer gave further clarifications that it was all a major indifference that happened when it comes to the reactions made about his recent performance.

Yoko Ono gave a very inspiring tweet to extend peace to everyone and somehow extend her means of putting an end to the issue. Her tweet says: "Imagining Peace - that 's something that we can all do together - even when we have different opinions about so many things!"

The last John Lennon issue happened during the summer of last year when Sean Lennon, the late artist's son with Ono, tweeted a picture of Lady Gaga playing the grand piano in white which once was used by his own father.

After a mixed reaction of tweets by mostly fans, the young man defended Lady Gaga by encouraging everyone to lighten up and concentrate on the world's real problems instead. Also, he mentioned that the piano was a gift to his mother and that his father was not as strict as everyone is acting to be.
