Celebrities ask President Obama to take a stand on same-sex marriage
An advocacy group has claimed that a number of celebrities have signed a petition calling on President Obama to come out supporting same-sex marriage.
An advocacy group pushing for same-sex marriage has claimed that a number of celebrities signed a petition calling for President Barack Obama to make a stand on marriage rights for same-sex couples.
The New York-based group, “Freedom to Marry” named Anne Hathaway, Martin Sheen and Jane Lynch as among the Hollywood stars to have append their signature for their call upholding the rights for same-sex marriage.
Other celebrities included R&B singer Mya, NFL linebacker Scott Fujita and Twitter founder, Jack Dorsey who asserted by the group have signed the open letter calling on the President to back gay marriage.
According to the Associated Press, the Freedom to Marry plans to deliver the letter to the White House in spring.
