Celebrities Join in Tribute for Philip Seymour Hoffman: From Gwyneth Paltrow, George Clooney to Tom Hanks and More
The death of the Oscar winning actor shocked fans all over the globe. The death came out when Hoffman's friends visited him in his Manhattan apartment to check on him. According to police reports, the actor was found dead in his underwear, with a syringe still sticking out of his arm, presumably to intake lethal doses of heroin. In addition, cops found glassine envelopes in the actor's house labeled "Ace of Spade," which was a brand of heroin that had not been seen in the streets since 2008.
The actor was currently finished taping two movies namely "God's Pocket" and "A Most Wanted Man." Moreover, the actor also played the role of Plutarch Heavensbee, the head Gamemaker in the best selling franchise "Hunger Games." According to Lionsgate, the release of the film on November 21, 2014 shall not be delayed by the untimely demise of the actor. The management expressed over the press their condolence to the actor's family.
Meanwhile, more stars joined the tribute for the Oscar winning actor. Gwyneth Paltrow, who starred alongside the actor in "The Talented Mr. Ripley," spearheaded the tribute for the said actor.George Clooney also publicly expressed his loss for words and grief over his friend's death by saying "There are no words. It's just terrible." Clooney starred in the 2011 movie "Ides of March" alongside Hoffman. Julian Moore, who appeared alongside Hoffman in three films namely, "Magnolia," "Boogie Nights" and "The big Lebowski," also expressed her sadness by saying to Entertainment Weekly "I feel so fortunate to have known and worked with the extraordinary Philip Seymour Hoffman, and am deeply saddened by his passing...my thoughts and condolences are with his family."
Tom Hanks also expressed his regret over the death of the actor. Hanks starred alongside the actor in the film "Charlie Wilson's War." Other celebrities such as Oscar winning actor Jeff Bridges, Aaron Paul, Clifton Collins, Patton Oswait, Donald Faison all took to the microblogging site Twitter to express their sadness over the incident.
Hoffman was last seen during the Sundance Film Festival where he promoted his film "God's Pocket." Reports say the actor looked somewhat "disheveled and pasty" presumably because of his drug intake.
