It's a fine day when a ban gets overturned and it's an even better day if celebrities take part announcing it. Proposition 8, the ban on same-sex marriage in California, has been deemed unconstitutional today. Now, celebrities are taking part in the festivities to celebrate the ground breaking news.

Federal Appeals Court has ruled Prop 8 as a violation of constitutional rights and is now on its way to the Supreme Court. The ban now being overturned is creating hype not only with gay and lesbian couples over the world but within celebrity circles as well. First, hear what Judge Stephen Reinhardt had to say about the decision.

"Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gay men and lesbians in California," says Judge Reinhardt in a statement released just this morning of Tuesday. With that announcement, Hollywood has got the hype and a few celebs took to Twitter to announce their excitement and overwhelming joy over the news.

@CoryMontieth: "Prop 8 has been ruled unconstitutional! In other news, the Pacific Ocean was discovered to be wet," tweeted "Glee" star, Cory Monteith.

@oliviawilde: "Woohoo!! Die Prop 8 Die!!!! 9th Circuit just ruled you unconstitutional. Next step Supreme Court!" tweeted Olivia Wilde.

@TheEllenShow: "Today we took another step towards equality. #Prop8 was found unconstitutional again. I couldn't be happier," tweeted the host of the show, Ellen Degeneres.

@ChazBono: "Today the US Court of Appeals rules that Prop 8 is unconstitutional. One step closer to equality for every American," tweeted activist, Bono of West Hollywood, California which was then followed up by, "Imagine what our society could be like if nobody was motivated by fear, hate, or greed. Our government might actually work for the people."

@MissKellyO: "Are my ears hearing this correctly? If so my eyes are filling with tears of joy! Thank you lord #Prop8IsUnconsitutional!" tweeted Osbourne's lovely daughter, Kelly Osbourne.

That isn't even the end of the Twitter rampage. Former member of the boy band Nysnc and casts of "The Modern Family" took part in the tweet-fest.

@LanceBass: "Well duh! RT @HuffingtonPost: Prop 8, California's same-sex marriage ban, declared unconstitutional huff.to/yRhmYy," tweeted Lance Bass.

The best post would go to "Modern Family" stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, both of who opted for a hilarious photo in response to the Prop 8 ruling on WhoSay.
