More and more celebrities are looking to promote and support ethical fashion, but just what is ethical fashion anyway? It's basically a concept where consumers are supposed to be much more mindful of what they buy and how they use it.

There are many ways to support this way of thinking and as celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Natalie Portman and Alicia Silverstone will tell you, ethical fashion is a lifestyle choice that changes not only your way of thinking but also possibly the way clothes are made in general.

One can say that ethical fashion starts with recycling what you already have. Chances are you already have more clothes than you know what to do with. Most women will take a look in their closet and despair about having nothing to wear; thus, rationalizing the need to go out and buy.

There is no shame in spending money that is hard-earned but one should always think about where that money goes to and always ask why you need to spend. By remixing and matching your clothes, whole new looks can be had-it just takes a little bit creativity and inspiration.

It's also important to remember that textiles are one produced in some of the poorest conditions for the lowest rates. By supporting and mass consuming fashion houses without being mindful of the implications, you align yourself with this kind of treatment and production. Why not go out and look through local thrift stores? Pieces from second hand shops are always interesting as they come with history. Or have swap meets with friends!

The idea is to consume less and be more resourceful-you already have everything you need. Celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Cheryl Crow and Rachel Bilson are known for their fashion flair, but it should also be said that they are also passionate supporters of ethical fashion and you should be too!
