Celebrity Karaoke: Broadway Stars To Sing Karaoke for Charity Organized by Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs
Fresh from her recent performance at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Tony Award-winning actress Idina Menzel brings another inspiring event that will include Broadway stars for a special charity event on July 22nd.
Menzel and her husband, Taye Diggs organized a celebrity karaoke event for the benefit of A Broader Way Foundation to be held at the Cutting Room in New York City.
The couple's Broadway friends including Matthew Morrison, Adam Pascual, Adrienne Warren, Jenn Colella, Anthony Rapp, Megan Hilty, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tom Kitt and more will grace the event.
Audience members will choose a song to be sang by the Broadway celebrities. Whoopi Goldberg will be hosting the event.
Menzel and Diggs established A Broader Way foundation in 2010 to help young girls from disadvantaged communities to have an outlet for self-expression and creativity through arts-centred programs.
Menzel, who portrayed the role of Maureen in the original production of Rent, met Diggs in the same production in 1995. Diggs played the role of the landlord, Benjamin Coffin III.
Apart from her performance at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the 'Wicked' actress aslo dazzled the audience at the Sydney Opera House when she sang famous Broadway songs and pop hits, such as Lady Gaga's Pokerface, with the Sydney Symphony.
If you're in New York on the 22nd, drop by at the celebrity karaoke event and have fun for a good cause.
