Celebrity scandals 2015: Celebrities who made headlines not for the right reasons
Offensive comments. Outrageous behaviours. Shocking revelations. Year 2015 saw a lot of celebrities enduring scandals including Ariana Grande, Amber Heard, Scott Disick, Ben Affleck, Jared Fogle, Donald Trump and many more. Here is a quick look at the biggest celebrity scandals of 2015.
Charlie Sheen’s HIV announcement
The “Two and a Half Men” actor Charlie Sheen revealed in November 2015 on “Today” show that he is HIV-positive and was diagnosed four years ago but kept it a secret. Although he claimed that all the women he had been with knew about his condition, his ex-fiancé Brett Rossi filed a lawsuit in December claiming she was not aware and was forced to have unprotected sex with him. Actor Burt Reynolds created controversy when he said than Sheen deserves HIV.
Zendaya and the Fashion Police
On the special Oscars edition of Fashion Police, former Disney star Zendaya, in February 2015 was subjected to some spiteful red carpet criticism when panellist Giuliana Rancic commented on Zendaya’s dreadlocks saying she smelled like “patchouli oil or weed.” Zendaya didn’t stay silent and launched a tirade on the “racist” comment that made Rancic apologise.
Tom Brady and Deflategate
Although Gisele Bundchen's husband Tom Brady denied his involvement in the “Deflate-gate” scandal, he and his teammates faced a lot of heat after it was reported that team “Patriots” beat the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC championship after purposefully deflating the footballs to make it easier for the quarterback to pass. Brady was referenced in the NFL investigation that led to a four-game suspension.
Bill Cosby sexual assault allegations
Amidst endless rape and sexual assault accusations and counter lawsuits, embattled comedian Bill Cosby continued well into 2015. Finally, on Dec. 30, 2015, Cosby was issued a warrant and arrested. He was charged with felony, booked and later released on a $1 million bail.
Amber Rose vs. Kardashians
It was perhaps the biggest celebrity feud of 2015. In a February interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, model Amber Rose criticised Kylie Jenner for dating Tyga. The feud reached pitch note when Khloe Kardashian lashed out at Rose via Twitter. However, Kanye West stepped in and made things cool down. According to ET Online, West made some choice comments about his ex-girlfriend Rose.
The Josh Duggar scandal
In May 2015, the “19 Kids and Counting” star Josh Duggar fell from grace when he came clean about his addiction to pornography and that he molested his sisters (Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald) and a babysitter when he was a teenager.
