They were done even before they started. Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria isn’t “ready to love” and stay in a long-distance relationship with hunk beau, Ernesto Arguello, and the celebrity couple has been confirmed calling time off after admitting to Hollywood romance barely a month ago.

It took time before Eva admitted that she’s hooking up with the Ready for Love reality show contestant, Ernesto. It will be recalled that rumours of the former lovers getting cozy began in April 2013. But Eva thought nothing of it and insisted that they were just friends.

She took to Twitter back then, denying any romance brewing between them: “WHAT?! AGAIN? Sorry guys, still not dating @ernestoarguello Who are these 'sources'??"

But actions indeed spoke louder than words.

At about the time the rumours came flying high in Tinseltown, Eva and Ernesto were spotted a number of times. At one time, she took Ernesto to shopping at some gallery, which added “more fuel to the romantic fire,” noted E! News.

Until she could not hide it anymore, Eva confirmed her romance with Ernesto in July 2013. She was quoted by E! Online describing her relationship with Ernesto and what “made is special.”

Eva said, “I think that's why our relationship is so special—we truly started as friends...I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn't see!"

And not one month later, they already broke up.

What caused the split?

1. Distance problems
A source told E! News “distance problems” have been seen as the top reason for the split. AceShowbiz also noted the same. After the couple’s recent trip in Spain, they thought that their relationship may not survive the long distance separating them.

No amount of love could bridge the gap between Eva and Ernesto that they decided to “put their relationship on hold.”

Eva stays in L.A. while Ernesto is based in Miami. That’s quite a distance.

2. Heavy workload
AceShowbiz noted, however that it’s the heavy workload that caused the end of quite short-lived Hollywood romance. The tons of work they each engaged adds insult to their long-distance injury.

With a lot of work in their hands , the couple think that they may not have enough time to jet to each other’s place to keep the love alive.

3. Busy lifestyle didn’t mesh
Citing a source in a report by gossip Web site, TMZ, The New York Daily News said that their “busy lifestyle didn’t mesh.”

Eva, who has just finished some charity work Thursday, and Ernesto can’t seem to find common time in the respective calendars.

4. Cheating rumours?
The Celebrity Laundry suspects it is way bigger than long-distance issues or busy lifestyle, reiterating that something big must have gone down during their recent trip for a 360-degrees turn for the couple.

The gossip Web site believes that Ernesto may have been caught looking the other way while his hands were clasped in Eva’s.

Celebrity Laundry: “Did Ernesto get caught with his pants down elsewhere? Did he decide that Eva is way too high maintenance to be stuck with for more than a few months? Was it all just physical and once the initial heat wore off both Ernesto and Eva both realized that they had precious little in common?”

The split has come a bit of a surprise since it came shortly after they have been together barely four months. For some lovers, this stage means just getting to know each other. Though for Eva, it’s much more than that. She had just declared weeks ago that Ernesto is “the man of her dreams.” The Desperate Housewives star has even sparked “engagement rumours,” following the big statement.

They have been inseparable since Eva confirmed their romance in July. They even went for a Europe trip two weeks ago. But the man of Eva’s dreams is “on hold” right now.

Eva met Ernesto on the set of NBC reality dating show Ready for Love. The 38-year old Eva was producing the short-lived show while 34-year-old Ernesto was one of the promising contestants. Wondering what happened to the show? It was shelved after few episodes.
