Champions League Live Stream: Real Madrid v Basel Preview, Squad And Injury Updates, Schedule
It's a giant hunting night in the Champions League as Basel takes on the mighty Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Los Blancos are currently on a tumultuous period, winning only their first match in the La Liga, while suffering two straight defeats in the hands of Real Sociedad and city rivals Atletico.
Carlo Ancelloti is determined to test the character of his squad on Tuesday, and is confident that they will pass it with flying colours.
"I feel like a coach who has to fix things," said the Italian.
"This match comes at the right time to show a response and demonstrate what a good team we are. "
"It's important to start this competition well. I think we will be competitive and we will try to win it again."
"We need maximum concentration because these spells are normal in football. "
With the influx of new faces, chemistry is one of the matters that the squad has to resolve.
"We have new players like [Toni] Kroos and James [Rodríguez] and we have to get used to playing with them," he added.
On the other hand, Basel boss Paulo Sousa hopes for the worst for the opposition, while believing that his side's optimism will get them something out of the game.
"We are starting a process and we are getting good results and some enjoyment from it," said Sousa.
"It's a positive style of football that we love to practise every day."
"We are coming here without any kind of complex and with courage and character."
"Despite the size of a club like Real Madrid, bad results can happen. I am sure they will solve their problems, but I hope that doesn't happen tomorrow."
