PSG Celebrates After the Final Goal

A late goal from Javier Pastore of Paris St-Germain nearly sealed the fate of Chelsea moving into the semi-final by 3-1 held at Parc des Princes, Paris. Now Chelsea must cover up the two goal deficit in any way to stay alive in the Champions League.

PSG gave the first shock 4 minutes into match when the Argentine Ezequiel Lavezzi put the team on the lead. However, in the 27th minute Chelsea got back to the game with an equalizer from a penalty by Eden Hazard.

The worst nightmare came to the visitors in 61st minute as David Luiz scored a same-side goal to give PSG the lead, 2-1.

The final blow came right before the end of the match when Javier Pastore placed a superb strike after dribbling three visitors and placed in from the right flank to target for a low shot past the goalie.

"The third goal changes things, but what I will take from this game more than anything is that our second half was excellent." PSG coach Laurent Blanc said after the match.

On the other hand, Chelsea's manager Jose Mourinho said the team played well overall but there were considerable defensive errors that flowed on, leading to this catastrophe.

"From a strategic point of view the team played with discipline and the most difficult things they did very well...But we just couldn't take the half-chances we created and on top of that we made defensive mistakes, individual defensive mistakes...We paid the price, and the third goal, it was a joke. It was not a goal it was a joke." Mourinho said.

The defeat puts Chelsea on a real pressure as the chance to reach semi-final turned into a far-fetched dream. The team will play their decisive match in the next week at Stamford Bridge and they surely have to pass a tough test to get back to the groove
