The Simpsons is on the move out. No, not from Springfield but from Channel Ten's schedule as the network plans to transfer The Simpsons to its new digital channel next year.

Ten's new channel is to be called Eleven and will target the youth market. Neighbours will also move to the new digital channel next year.

In a statement, Ten's chief programming officer David Mott said "Neighbours is perfectly suited to Eleven's audience strategy and will find a successful and enduring home on Eleven."

FreemantleMedia Australia, producer of the popular soap, welcomed Ten's decision and said that they are very proud of the faith being placed in Neighbours and the key role that the show will be playing in Eleven's launch and line-up.

The digital channel will feature programs such as Futurama, Dexter, Nurse Jackie, The Cleveland Show, Supernatural, Stargate, Smallville, The Office, 90210, The Simpsons and Neighbours.
