Charlie Sheen wants his sons to stay with Denise Richards permanently. The controversial actor will reportedly ask the judge handling the custody case of his 4-year-old twins Bob and Max to let them stay with his ex-wife on a permanent basis.

Denise currently has temporary guardianship of Charlie's sons after they were removed from their mother Brooke Mueller's care while she recuperates from her drug addiction in rehab.

According to RadarOnline.com, Charlie believes that Denise is the best person to take care of Bob and Max. Denise also has custody of her and Charlie's daughters Sam and Lola.

"It would be in the boys' best interest to remain with Denise Richards permanently, according to Charlie. He will tell the judge he wants the boys to stay in Denise's home for good. His reason is a very simple one: Brooke's drug addiction precludes her from taking care of the boys," a source told the Web site.

"What is going to be different this time when Brooke gets released from rehab? She hasn't managed to stay sober the nineteen times prior. Charlie doesn't wish Brooke any ill will, in fact, but this isn't about her anymore, it's about what is best for Bob and Max."

It isn't clear why Charlie doesn't have the custody of his sons, but it seems like even he knows that, although Denise isn't the boys' mum, she is the better parent between them.

Apparently, even Denise wants the boys to stay with her.

She has told her ex-husband that "she would absolutely love to keep the boys permanently. She wants what is best for them, and Denise loves taking care of them. Bob and Max love living with their sisters, Sam and Lola, and with Denise's adopted daughter, Eloise," the source said.

"The boys are absolutely thriving in Denise's house. She is a great mum. It's a lot of work, being a single mum with five kids under one roof, but her dad helps out."

She even refused Charlie's offer of additional money while taking care of his sons. Denise is already receiving $55,000 child support payment from Charlie for their daughters.

Denise and Charlie were married in 2002, but acrimoniously divorced in 2006. They have mended their differences over the years, and are now on good terms.
