In June, 2013, the media was abuzz with the news of FX sitcom "Anger Management" producers firing Selma Blair because of Charlie Sheen. The actor has finally come clean on the alleged role he played in getting Blair fired. Blair's character was written out because of creative input and he personally was not responsible for the pink sleep given to the actress, according to Charlie Sheen.

"Selma Blair ... was written out because [the show] was not about our relationship, and the problem was too many people were still excited about the 'Two and a Half [Men]' character and thought the Anger Management" character was a little dull, So that is not the case anymore ... Her character leaves, and I start circling the drain. So it's really fun to watch and hella fun to play," he said during his visit to The Tonight Show, as quoted by The Huffington Post.

At the time, Lionsgate had release a brief statement: "We are confirming that Selma Blair will not be returning to Anger Management and we wish her the very best."

Blair potrayed the character of Dr. Kate Wales, ex-therapist colleague of Charlie Sheen's character and also a friend with benefits.

The Comedy Series premiered on June 28, 2012, with record breaking 5.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the first episode of "Anger Management." It is based on the movie of the same name, which released in 2008 and starred Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler.

Charlie Sheen's character, Charlie Goodson, has been loosely inspired by Nicholson's Dr. Buddy Rydell. Charlie is a former professional baseball player turned anger management therapist.

In August, 2012, FX renewed the series for a total of "90 episodes" in an unexpected move. The network had said "Anger Management exceeded exceptions, becoming the highest-rated new comedy series on cable in 2012, and averaging 4.53 million total viewers and 2.5 million adults 18-49 in its first ten episodes."
