The “Two and a Half Men” actor has recovered from a disastrous 50-minute show at the Radio City Hall at the Big Apple after receiving a standing ovation from the crowd at the Oakdale Theatre.
He may have received big boos at his live tour in New York Friday but Charlie Sheen and his entourage were greeted by a friendlier audience in Connecticut, giving the “Two and a Half Men” actor a standing ovation at the Oakdale Theatre.
The "Men" actor has recovered from a disastrous 50-minute show at the Radio City Hall at the Big Apple during the sixth stop of his “My Violent Torpedo of Truth: Defeat is Not an Option Tour” and he found himself a supportive audience in Wallingford Connecticut.
The audience did not seem to find anything wrong with everything that the “Men” actor said or did during the show Saturday- - too good that Sheen finished the tour ten minutes longer than his first show in New York Friday.
Sheen talked about UCONN”s recent NCAA tournament title and briefly, the issues hounding him concerning “Two and a Half Men”, emphasizing that the big shots at the Warner Bros. fired him from “having too much fun”.
During the talk, the actor also encouraged people to smoke pot and called his New York tour the night before as an “embarrassment”.
Though the crowd was unusually very enthusiastic of the show, some according to The Hollywood Reporter have walked out particularly those who was not impressed by the actor.
Quoting critic Roger Catlin of the Hartford Courant, The Hollywood Reporter noted that the fans began to wane due to lack of material the actor and his entourage had prepared for the night.
Catlin tweeted: "Thirty minutes on, with it obvious he has no material, the exodus begins from the balcony. #Losing".
But the actor was so persistent that and refused to be let down by the fans heading for the exit door until he regained the audience interest.
"Let's bring these people to Radio Shitty Music Hall tomorrow night and have a f**king party," Sheen was quoted as declaring by The Hollywood Reporter.
On top of his usual topic on the tour, Sheen talked about bacon and masturbation. And Hartford Courant critic, Roger Catlin noted in his tweet that there was indeed one memorable moment during the show. It was Sheen retrieved an audience member kicked out by the security and had him played the harmonica with Sheen on stage.
Catlin tweeted: "Random dude invited on stage to play harmonica. It's the only flash of talent on stage all night. #Sheen"
After the 60-minute live show, the crowd gave Sheen the standing ovation, while chanting "F**K NYC" in unison.
