Actor Charlie Sheen has sent a message of gratitude to CBS and Warner Bros. TV as he tries to recover from rehab.

The controversial actor voluntarily went to rehab on January 28. As a result network executives have decided to put filming for his tv series Two and a Half Men on hold.

In his statement Sheen says: "Like Errol Flynn, who had to put down his sword on occasion, I just want to say, 'Thank you.' "He also thanked the series' castmembers and crew.

"And to my fans, your good wishes have touched me very much," he wrote. "I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people."

The show's shutdown would amount as much $250 million in losses for the network in terms of syndication deals and ad revenue.
