Charlotte Dawson was rushed to the hospital at the height of her online bickering with another Twitter user and some online haters.

Earlier this week, Dawson re-tweeted a message from "Ms Heti," a certain Twitter user who apparently did not like her. The tweet goes: "excuse me @MsCharlotteD on behalf of NZ we would like you to please GO HANG YOURSELF!!!"

Dawson, who had 23,000 followers at the time, immediately gathered support from a woman whose fiancée did commit suicide.

Casey tweeted: "My fiance hanged himself HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. [sic]"

Dawson's critic still lashed back: "If I was your fiance I'd hang myself too #gohangyourself."

University staff suspended over Twitter row

This prompted Dawson to dig up info about Ms Heti. The Twitter attacker apparently worked at Monash University. She was suspended from work after Dawson reported her series of offensive tweets.

The university staff, Tanya Heti, was later reported to police.

"The NSW Police Force takes cyber bullying very seriously," a police spokeswoman said.

"Threats of violence, whether made on-line or not, constitute criminal conduct and will be thoroughly investigated by police ... and if sufficient evidence exists, appropriate action will be taken."

However, the hate tweets did not stop.

Another user created an account called "@JoKillYourself" and tweeted:

"@MsCharlotteD Kill yourself and save us the trouble of getting you taken off the air, you worthless w***e."

Ooops, her tweet was just a joke

It will be recalled that Ms Dawson herself was criticised months ago for tweeting what she claimed to be a joke in relation to Bryan Grey-Yambao aka BryanBoy, a fashion designer from the Philippines.

"Will someone please kill (fashion blogger) BryanBoy" which she later dismissed as a joke.

In reaction to criticisms as well as BryanBoy's tweets that he got "scared" by a certain Aussie, Dawson said:

"It's mostly very funny, but people are making serious accusations as well," she said. "And I'm considering what to do about that."

Charlotte Dawson rushed to hospital

The media is now talking about cyber bullying after Dawson's hospitalization.

Dawson tweeted about 2:00am Thursday morning: "Hope this ends the misery..." and "You win x."

3aw.com.au spoke to an ambulance spokesperson who confirmed they responded to a call at 3:05am for assistance in an inner-city Sydney premises.

Meanwhile, News Limited reported Ms Dawson was expected to make a full recovery St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney.
