Chelsea FC: Mourinho Expects 'Tight Match' Against West Brom
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is expecting a tight match against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday (AEST) in the Premier League.
His Blues are still unbeaten in the ongoing campaign in the top-flight, dropping only four points after finishing games against both Manchester clubs on level terms, and are four markers clear of second-place Southampton.
In spite of boasting an impressive record, thus far, the former Real Madrid boss is still keeping his feet on the ground.
"I expect a tight match, against a team that (sic) know they can get a result against us because they have done it in the past."
"We go to every match thinking we can win, but the reality is that they have a good team, they can give us a very difficult match."
With their relatively compact defense and an abled counterattacking frontline, the Baggies are one of the dangerous sides that are capable of surprising bigger and stronger clubs, as they did against Manchester United, Tottenham, and Southampton.
Meanwhile, West Brom overseer Alan Irvine will not be contented in only letting his charges wait until Chelsea makes a mistake throughout the game, as he is fully aware that they can be heavily punished for doing so.
"We have a chance but we can't be passive. If we sit back and let them have the ball and try to soak up pressure for 90 minutes then eventually they will open us up.
"They can open you up with individual brilliance or with combination play and they can also open you up by being effective from set plays because they're extremely good at them."
