Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is full of praises for John Terry, as it seems that the Blues skipper has the ability to turn back time and put on performances that he would usually deliver about 10 years ago.

Aside from some Capital One Cup fixtures, the former Three Lions mainstay has been present at the back for Chelsea in each and every Premier League and Champions League game.

Apparently in top form, the 34-year-old was able to sneak one in against Stoke City on Monday, to the delight of the Portuguese mentor.

"When he (Terry) is on the pitch he is always a threat," said Mourinho.

"But more important for me than the goal is the way he is playing this season, again."

The Chelsea youth product struggled under the helm of former overseers but has since proven that he still has much gas left in his tank under the tutelage of Mourinho.

"When I came here (in the summer of 2013) he was a bit in trouble, his career was a bit up and down and he was not playing regularly for Chelsea," he continued.

"But he has played basically every game, and, for me, at the same level as from 2004-2007 when I was here."

"I think he adapts well to our training methodology - it's a good way for a person with his body type to feel sharp and fast and in good condition. After that it's happiness."

"When you're happy and confident it's easier in any job."

"He knows the way I trust him, and he feels confident and happy and he's playing very well."
