Spanish giants FC Barcelona will compete with Chelsea in securing the signature of Atletico Madrid playmaker Koke, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old has been selected to participate in the World Cup Finals for Spain after helping the Rojiblancos win the La Liga title and place second in the Champions League.

He contributed an eye-catching 18 assists and 7 goals in 58 appearances during the 2013/14 season for the capital-based outfit.

However, he was quick to dismiss such rumours linking him to the Blues and Barca, and is looking forward to more fruitful years at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

"I am very happy and I do not think about leaving the club right now," said Koke.

"I am happy at home, I want to continue here and that is why I have a long contract."

"The rumours in the paper will have no impact on my game. I am young, but I am calm."

"Now is the best moment to enjoy being at Atletico. My future here will be long."
