Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is "confident" that he will be able to land Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Costa after the World Cup.

The Brazil-born Spanish international has been the subject of speculations even before the January transfer window started as the Portuguese mentor is looking to add firepower in his attacking line, which is perceived to be the final ingredient to in the Blues' quest for silverware.

"I am extremely confident we are going to get him and he'll end up signing for Chelsea,"said Mourinho.

"Costa is a player I want in my team. I've asked the club to bring him in."

The 25-year-old helped the Rojiblancos clinch the La Liga title for the first time after almost two decades during the 2013/14 season, while also being a key man in their Champions League second-place finish.

He placed third overall for goals scored in the domestic league with 27, with only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi having a better output than him, while created 7 succesfull opportunities for his teammates in all competitions.
