Chelsea midfielder Ramires may be heading to La Liga Powerhouse FC Barcelona, reports indicate.

The Catalan club has been linked to signing Atletico Madrid starlet Koke, but competition from other big clubs like Manchester United and Liverpool may deem their chances difficult or slim, and sees the signing of the Brazilian as a viable option.

Barca boss Tata Martino has a more than an abled midfield personnel at the moment, but age may already be a cause of concern moving forward, as the likes of creative midfielders Xavi Hernandez, 33, and Andres Iniesta, 29, are already nearing the final stages of their respective careers.

While Koke may seem to be the better choice in terms of age and promise, Ramires has already proven himself at every stage of football whether it be at club level or otherwise.

The Brazilian has featured regularly for the Blues since he set foot on Stamford Bridge in 2010 under different managers, and the trend continues even under the reigns of comebacking mentor Jose Mourinho, a fact which speaks highly of his quality.

On the other hand, Koke has been dubbed as the next "Xavi" because of his impressive performances for Atleti this season.

It remains to be seen whether Barca is really serious in chasing the Atletico man, but Ramires is definitely a decent alternative.
