Chelsea Handler Says She Almost Became Bill Cosby's Victim

Thinking back, Chelsea Handler asserted she almost became one of Bill Cosby’s sexual assault victims. The 40-year-old said the legendary comedian tried “to Cosby” her around a decade ago.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, American actress and comedian said she almost ended up the having the same experience as three dozen of women accusing Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them. Handler said she was in Atlantic City playing and doing standup at the same time that Cosby was doing a standup on the same place. She said she really did not know him so she was quite surprised when some from the hotel told her that Cosby wanted to meet her up on his suite. She said she felt weird about the request.

She said she did not want to go alone so she asked her friends to go up with her. And although she did not really went there at the time with her friends because she was worried about Cosby doing anything, she now thinks back and said she had been lucky to have someone with her on that encounter with Cosby. “One was filming and one was like a producer; we were filming something --I brought them up with me to his room and thank God I did, because now I know what would've happened if I went up there alone,” she said.

After the incident, she said she forgot all about it because it was not such a big deal then, with no three dozens of women accusing of Cosby of sexual assault yet. She only started to remember the particular incident when the stories of assault started to surface in the media lately and a friend who accompanied her to Cosby’s suite, texted her saying she could have been one of the victims that night.

Even as accusations pile up against the legendary comedian, Cosby is yet to be charged with a crime. The actor had denied all allegations and even though his career suffered a blow, he continuously stage his concert shows. Recently, two more women Sunni Welles and Margie Shapiro claimed they have been victimized by Cosby back in their teens. They are being represented by celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, who said Cosby seems to be treating all these serious allegations as joke. The lawyer also said Cosby’s appearance in a 10-minute video wearing nothing but pajamas on to promote his concert on West Virginia is offensive.
