Chelsea Leads The Premier League, Tailed By Manchester City And Manchester United
Many rivals have been sad on what turned out to be a cementing-of-position day in the Premier League on Friday. Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United have paved their way to the top of the Premier League ladder as they managed to consolidate their positions. All these three teams had their moments with one-side Boxing Day victories.
Chelsea kicked off the rivalry by scoring 2-0 against West Ham United. This was followed by the success of Manchester City when it nailed the game at West Bromwich Albion at a 3-1 score. Manchester United completed the top trio when it scored 3-1 against Newcastle on Friday with Wayne Rooney scoring twice and Robin Persie making a goal. Every team seems to be keeping their own pace to the Premier League.
As between the top three teams, Chelsea takes the lead by three points from Manchester City while Manchester United is tailing at seven points. West Ham United's loss against Chelsea opened an opportunity for Southampton, Arsenal, Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to riot over the fourth slot. In every match, a single miss, win, or loss provides a great impact to the rest of the teams, which are vying for a slot as near as possible to the top ladder in the Premier League.
Chelsea, which is currently leading in the Premier League, put West Ham United in the fifth slot. John Terry and Diego Costa's goals during each half paved the way of Chelsea to reach the top. Both Terry's and Costa's collaborative acts opened a one-side home opportunity for Jose Mourinho to finally bring home the bacon.
Most of the coaches and other teams have high expectations for West Ham United not to be defeated considering the team's stern test after a series of undefeated five games. However, despite Morgan Amalfitano's great performance during the game, this did not stop Chelsea from putting up their best attacks and this made Chelsea to land on the first slot. At the end of the day, Sam Allardyce's team was run over by what was labelled as the London rival's 100th encounter.
