British singer Cheryl Cole has released a new music video for her single The Flood from her album Messy Little Raindrops. In the video, Cole evokes loneliness while she tries to sleep on a bed in a beach house overlooking a stormy ocean.

The music video for "The Flood" was shot with cliffs on England's south coast serving as the backdrop. The video is directed by Sophie Muller who has previously worked with Cheryl Cole for the video Promise This which is also a single from Messy Little Raindrops.

Cole's Promise This topped the UK chart even before the release of her highly-anticipated sophomore album Messy Little Raindrops.

The album's producer Starmith has previously told the Daily Star: "[Messy Litte Raindrops is] a fun, house-driven '90s piano kind of track. Very four to the floor. It sounds great."

"That's the great thing with her next record, she's taking a lot more risks and trying different things. I think Cheryl is planning to break Stateside with this album."

Cheryl Cole is singer-songwriter, dancer, model and one of the judges in the popular television show in the UK, The X Factor.
