'Chicago Fire' season 5 episode 12 spoilers: A dangerous man targets Casey and Firehouse 51; Severide is torn between Anna and Stella in ‘An Agent of the Machine’

Things have been rather sad on "Chicago Fire" recently. With everything that Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) have gone through, it looks like their struggle is not yet over. As the season reaches its finale, a lot of unanswered questions could finally be settled, particularly on who Severide (Taylor Kinney) really wants.

Previously, viewers saw how Dawson dealt with the loss of Louie. While this may be really hard for her, there is still some good news and she might use this opportunity to help the father and son’s relationship heal. As for Stella (Miranda Mayo), Anna (Charlotte Sullivan) and their complicated love triangle with Severide, it looks like Stella will not be backing down.

In the next episode, there are going to be some hard times for some of the characters and this will hold particularly true for Casey. The synopsis on the NBC site says that the team will be on full alert when a previous incident will leave a dangerous man on the loose with a vendetta against Casey and Firehouse 51. This will prompt the Chicago Police Department to step in.

It is also revealed that Severide’s old buddy, Dennis Mack (Nick Boraine), will be coming to town to give the squad some support. However, it will be later on discovered that this man has other motives. In the meantime, Antonio (John Seda) and Brett’s (Kara Killmer) relationship will get a little bumpy when his ex-wife Laura (America Olivo) pops up. Lastly, Casey has a surprise present for Dawson.

In the YouTube promo, Severide gets the spotlight as he has difficulty choosing between his soulmate and his old flame, from whom he just could not get over. This is a major issue, especially from someone who has a hard time making firm decisions. This time, however, viewers might finally witness him choose someone for good.

This episode of “Chicago Fire” will air on Feb. 7 on NBC. It can also be viewed in Australia on FOX 8.
