Just when everyone thought that TV series crossovers are just for superheroes, “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD” are about to prove everyone wrong. In January 2017, the real heroes of Chicago will be treating all its viewers to an exciting crossover where viewers would get to see their city’s protectors fight crime and emergencies back to back.

Both “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire” will be on break for the holidays and a lot of viewers will surely miss them during this period. However, it has been recently confirmed that they will be welcoming the new year with a bang. What is even better is, they will be doing it together.
In a post on Chicago Fire’s official Twitter account, Julie Carlile saying “The upcoming “@NBCChicagoFire @NBCChicagoPD crossover looks bananas” was retweeted. This was accompanied by the own caption “Brace yourselves! January 3 is definitely going to be b-a-n-a-n-a-s. #ChicagoFire.” This makes perfect sense since both departments are saving lives in Chicago. They are bound to collaborate with each other at some point.
The crossover airs on January 3, 2017 from 9 to 11 p.m. and an exclusive sneak peak shows a newly promoted Burgess (Marina Squercalti) meeting her new partner. However, they don’t look very comfortable with the new setup.
The crossover will kick off with a new episode of Chicago Fire at 9 p.m. where Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) will deal with tight legal matters in the hope of ending up as Louie’s legal guardians. Meanwhile, Severide (Taylor Kinney) will continue in his efforts for a bone marrow procedure to push through to be of assistance to Anna (Charlotte Sullivan). However, when things end up differently and he will find himself back to where he always had been.
The episode crossover of “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire” will air on January 3, 2017 on NBC. It will also air on Channel 7 in Australia.
