China Breeds 14 New Cute, Adorable Baby Pandas (VIDEO)

Christmas arrived early in China as 14 cute and adorable baby panda cubs were born in the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base in the country's south-west Sichuan province.

Sichuan is a mountainous province where most wild pandas originate. The latest 14, born between July and September, were artificially bred.

Founded in 1987, the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Base is the world's largest panda breeding base. It currently holds more than 120 alive pandas there.

Considered already one of the world's endangered animals, it is also hard to breed or produce pandas because of their very short annual breeding period which roughly spans only 48 to 72 hours a year. To produce just even one single panda, perfect timing is of the essence. And timing it could really be so hard, whether through natural mating or even artificial insemination.

It is believed there are about 300 pandas living in captivity around the world. About 1,500 are believed to be living in the wild in China.
